Vinton Cerf

Dr. Vinton Cerf was born on June 23, 1943, in New Haven, Connecticut. Later, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, where we attended Vans Nuys High School and graduated from there. In 1965, he graduated from Stanford University with a mathematics' bachelor’s degree. A couple years later, in 1970, he decided to go back to university, this time to University of California at Los Angeles, which is where he got a doctorate and master’s degree in computer science. This helped him do many things such as help co-create the internet. The internet is something people now use every day, and it was such an important invention, and it wouldn’t exist without Dr. Vinton Cerf. Creating this also helped him earn a lot more awards. For example, in November of 2005, he was awarded the Nobel Prize of Computer Science, which is also sometimes called the ACM Turing Award. He also got the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the president. He is still alive today, living at 80 years old.
